From our friend Zee Zee of SWBooks.co.uk: (I think we may have mentioned this when it aired in the US, but in case you missed it...)
"I've just seen the latest episode of "The Big Bang Theory", season 2 episode 8 "The Lizard-Spock Expansion" to be screened in the UK (we're about three episodes behind the US). Shown on CBS, "The Big Bang Theory" stars Johnny Galecki as Dr. Leonard Hofstadter and Jim Parsons as Dr. Sheldon Cooper as two young, brilliant physicists, living in a LA apartment, who would probably be the Webster's new definition of geek! It also features Kaley Cuoco as Penny (the girl living next door) who acts as the earthing rod to the behaviour and attitudes of the two scientists.
Anyway, in this episode, Leonard turns on the TV and tunes into The Clone Wars TV series when Sheldon exclaims that he refuses to watch The Clone Wars TV series until he has seen The Clone Wars movie first as he "wants to be disappointed in the order George Lucas intended". Apart from the immediate contemporary reference, this episode was originally aired in the US on 17th November, is this now what epitomises how a new generation view Star Wars, to be disappointed in the order George Lucas intended?"
"The latest episode of the History Channel show The Universe dealt with the way life might develop on other planets. I think the first hypothetical planet they spotlight would be of great interest to Star Wars EU fans, as it deals with the exact circumstances of the Twi'lek''s home planet, Ryloth, in the novels and comics. It's even more interesting because we know that Ryloth will be playing a major part in an upcoming arc of The Clone Wars. I found the relevant part of the episode on YouTube - it starts at about 3:35."
Thanks Mike!
From our friend Heather R.:
"So a new game has been launched for Star Wars fans at http://gocrosscampus.com/game/watch/starwars/. It's really cool, and kind of styled on the strategy game RISK, and it's a sweet way for Star Wars fans to come together. Just thought people might be interested."
