The Official Starwars.com Blog brings us up to speed from yesterday's San Diego Comic-Con panel of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Reaction to the cinematic trailer is still going strong and the development team promised variety, incredible customization, and lots of voice-overs in a game that's not just about the Jedi. A couple excerpts below:


"Alexander (Alexander Freed, managing editor at BioWare) continued the thought: ?When you look at Knights of the Old Republic, that entire game is a ?Jedi? story. We?ve got Bounty Hunter stories, Smuggler stories, and more. And each story must work together, and have a beginning, middle, and end. If you want to know the military world of The Old Republic, we?ve got the Trooper. If you want the underworld we have the Bounty Hunter and the Smuggler.?'


"After opening it up to Q&A, the audience did not let up. Jumping right into the ?Light Side/Dark Side? debate, the team explained that you can actually play the ?nicest Sith on the block?, which gets you special abilities that only a ?lighter side Sith? can obtain. Each class has these levels of choices within their story, and each class can be played through many times."

Star Wars Fan Fiction
Throughout the years, fans have been inspired by Star Wars to create intriguing fiction and roleplaying opportunities. ArikVandar initiated a roleplaying story, Insurrection, which focuses on the planet of Onderon. The Onderon citizens are uprising against the recent takeover of the Sith Empire. Rumors say that the Jedi may be behind the rebellion and the Empire is sending out a task force to squelch the citizens.
