Those expectantly waiting for the release of the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic may be a little excited for the following announcement from LucasArts and BioWare:
"BioWare and LucasArts today announced that they have started accepting applicants to assist them in testing Star Wars?: The Old Republic?. Limited testing slots are reserved for The Old Republic Community members, so those interested need only sign up at http://www.swtor.com/user/account if they haven?t already. Once signed in, members can log in and click the My Account page to opt in for testing. Testing will be an ongoing process, and spots are limited, so people need to sign up early to give them the best possible chance of getting selected.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively-multiplayer online game being developed by the storytelling experts at BioWare and LucasArts. In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between The Old Republic and The Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the Light or Dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players? actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges in dynamic Star Wars combat."
Well, aparently people are excited for the announcement. If you currently try to visit SWTOR.com, you're met with the following message:
"Thank you for visiting www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com. We are making adjustments to the site due to the overwhelming response to the testing announcement. Please be patient and check back later. We estimate that the site will be back up in the next few hours."
If you want to be a tester, keep checking back to the TOR site and repeatedly click refresh...which probrably caused the adjustment needs in the first place.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
