Leading up to Comic Con 2009, IGN's Ryan Clements got his hands on Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes and seems to be pretty potimistic about the game. Check out the excerpt below but be sure to click here for the full article with new screenshots and a link to a new gameplay video that seems to come from the first level! (with more gameplay footage than the trailer just posted on SW.com)
"You won't have to take on the droid legions by yourself, though. Republic Heroes is built around cooperative play and there are two characters on screen at almost all times, which means a second player can jump in and out at his or her leisure. Learning this, I immediately thought of another big name in the LucasArts world: LEGO Star Wars. Republic Heroes seems to share that same multiplayer mentality, though obviously no LEGO pieces are involved this time around.
The Jedi mission I played took place on the planet Ryloth -- a prominent desert world in the Clone Wars TV series. Heroes Anakin and Ahsoka charge across perilous cliffs, dispatching droid troops along the way. Fighting as a Jedi is very simple in Clone Wars, as most attacks can just be executed with one button, though players can also take advantage of powers like the Force Push to cast droids aside. But the most interesting aspect of combat in Republic Heroes is the Jedi's ability to jack droids. By leaping atop any droid, players can plunge their lightsaber into the soldier and temporarily assume control of it. This means taking advantage of its weapon systems, which are often used for puzzle solving."
Again, Republic Heroes is coming to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Playstation Portable (PSP), Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC on September 15th.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
