- "Artoo will still have his jet rockets." - JK
- "Well, one, his brains have, his memory system has been erased and so has R2's. So, they don't remember anything from the first trilogy. I'm telling you something from Episode III, but I shouldn't be telling you that, but I think most of the fans already know that." - GL
- "Their memories will be erased at the end of EpIII." - GL
- R2 and 3PO will be in a scene going down a starship ramp where Padm?, Obi-Wan and C-3PO meet Bail Organa at its base. - OS
- In one scene called a "Lobby" and "Hallway", Anakin and Obi-Wan will be walking down a corridor and will join R2-D2 at one point. - OS
- It looks like there will be more digital R2-D2 in Ep3 than Kenny Baker acting/working R2. - DB
- There is not likely a need for the "sand-R2" which is modified to operate in a sandy environment (Tatooine). - DB
- We will see new types of rescues by R2-D2 and new "environmental situations". - DB
- R2 will likely have a larger role in Ep3 than he did in Ep2. - DB
- R2 will be flying in the back of a small fighter ship similar to how he did with Luke and young Anakin. This scene(s) will include ships fighting a la X-Wings and TIE's. - DB
- R2 will see and be present for at least one lightsaber duel. - DB
- R2 and 3PO's relationship "deepens and blossoms". - DB
- R2 will see his fair share of peril. - DB
- R2-D2 will have a scene where he pulls something heavy. - OS
- R2 will have a scene when he will debark from a newly-designed Jedi starfighter. - OS
- As dark as Ep3 will be, we will still see classic humorous scenes between C-3PO and R2-D2. - AD
- Artoo will probably get a few laughs in one particular sequence. - PH
- Both C-3PO and R2-D2's significance is about the same as it was in The Empire Strikes Back, with a little less for Threepio and a little more for Artoo. - PH
- Anakin's Jedi starfighter has bright yellow highlights. R2-D2 is on Anakin's fighter. - OS
- A full-size Jedi starfighter prop is used for R2-D2 close-ups. - OS
- One scene is a walk and talk between Anakin Skywalker and Bail Organa, with C-3PO and R2-D2 tagging along in the background. - OS
- "Artoo is an action hero in this one. He's Arnold Schwarzenegger this time. He's really tough and beats up a few battle droids. And, he saves the heroes again many times." - GL
- R2-D2 and C-3PO are witness to unsettling events on an inhospitable world. Wind machines, fog and red-tinted lights serve to further customize this environment. - OS
- R2-D2 erupts with a distracting array of tools in a clever albeit last-ditch effort to escape evil clutches. - OS
- In Episode III, we'll see Artoo get into a scrap with meaner, tougher robots. This scene spotlights the more versatile digital model of Artoo. - OS
- There are scenes where both R2-D2 and C-3PO will be CG. - RC
- Artoo will save someone's life in Episode III. - PH
- Artoo does not have a spycam in his dome head during the Prequel Trilogy. - PH
- Artoo gets the action hero role for one particular part of the movie, early on, and it's played for fun. - PH
- Artoo joins in the fight on the bridge of the Trade Federation cruiser. - OS
- The feisty droid R2-D2 is assigned to serve Anakin Skywalker in the Clone Wars. Seated in the droid socket of Anakin's Jedi starfighter, Artoo is witness to dramatic events that will change the galaxy. - AFCB
- "During Episode III, on Artoo's last scene, there is a switch that controls Artoo's head. For some reason, on my radio, the beep wasn't disabled. When it would reverse direction, it would beep. It's a real subtle beep but it was close enough to make one of the actors aware of it, which caused him some distraction. So I ended up operating Artoo for that shot from the monitors far away from him so that he wasn't distracted during the scene." - DB
- While aboard the Trade Federation cruiser, Artoo carries a Jedi comlink. - PH
- As Obi-Wan and Anakin infiltrate a Trade Federation cruiser, Obi-Wan hands R2-D2 a comlink. In subsequent scenes, the Jedi stay in contact with Artoo via the comlink. - Insider #78
