New York Comic Con 2023: Lucasfilm Publishing Panel Highlights

This past weekend, the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel took place at New York Comic Con where licensees announced and previewed what fans can expect out in the coming months. The panel included authors Megan Crouse, Claudia Gray, Marc Guggenheim, E.K. Johnston, John Jackson Miller, Greg Pak, Ethan Saks, Charles Soule, Rosemary Soule & Alyssa Wong joined by host and Lucasfilm Publishing creative director, Michael Siglain.



Marvel announced Star Wars: Mace Windu, a new mini-series coming this January. The story is by Marc Bernardin with cover art by Mateus Manhanini.



They announced Star Wars: Jango Fett, a new mini-series by Ethan Sacks coming in March with cover art by Leinil Francis Yu.



Originally released as a hardcover novel, Star Wars: Thrawn - Alliances will be released in comic book form through this new adaptation by Timothy Zahn & Jody Houser with cover art by Rod Reis. This is set for a January release.



Rounding out Marvel's reveals was the cover art for Star Wars: The High Republic - Shadows of Starlight #4 by Charles Soule, and Star Wars: The High Republic #3 by Cavan Scott, both with cover art by Phil Noto.



Dark Horse Comics showed off the third issue of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures ongoing comic series by Daniel José Older with cover art by Harvey Tolibao and Kevin Tolibao.



Also from Dark Horse Comics, this April, look for a new line of graphic novels titled Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories - Qui-Gon by George Mann with illustration by Andrea Mutti and Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories - Obi-Wan by Cecil Castelucci with illustration by Lucas Marangon. Cover art for both is by Michael Cho.



Star Wars: The High Republic - The Lightsaber Collection by Daniel Wallace will be released in April from Insight Editions.



Also from Insight Editions, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - A Visual Archive will be released in March by Kelly Knox, Clayton Sandell, and S.T. Bende with cover art by Ise Ananphada.



Finishing off the panel highlights, Chronicle Books will publish Star Wars: Dad Jokes by Kelly Knox with cover art and illustrations by Johnny Sampson. It's a book featuring the best worst jokes and puns from a galaxy far, far away to be released in April.
