Welcome back as we present another full plate of references, links, and randomness though our continuing series, Star Wars is Everywhere.







Let's start off with a couple of Star Wars references from last night's episode of Chuck on NBC. The first reference comes while Chuck and his best friend Morgan are talking about relationships:

Morgan: "Achille's heel. Chuck every relationship has one. A singular problem that can not be overcome, even in the greatest romances. Romeo and Juliet. Tristan and Isolde. Anakin and Padme." (at approx. 3:10)

Later in the episode, Morgan and Colonel Casey seek out slacker workers for the new Buy More store (which doubles as a CIA base), in order to make it feel more authentic. They find Lester and Jeff, who didn't want to be found.

Lester, with the wave of a finger: "We're not the boys you're looking for."

Morgan: "I guess they're not the boys we're looking...Hey! Cut it out!" (at approx. 22:22)




If you're not watching Fringe on FOX then we just don't have enough time for me to break down the series for you. Let's just say that there is another dimension that looks a lot like our dimension except that things are slightly different. The other side has a slightly adjusted history (example: JFK is seen in a picture in old age) and enjoys some more advanced technology (example: there are daily flights to the Moon). As of last week's season premiere, the main character, special agent Olivia Dunham, is stuck in the alternate universe. While things may be a bit different there, Star Wars remains! A taxi driver, whom Olivia has essentially had to kidnap, uses a reference to the Jedi Mind Trick around the 22:52 mark. Remember though, in the alternate universe things are a bit different. Well if this doesn't fit in the Star Wars is Everywhere category, then I'm not sure what does. TFN reader JD found it rather interesting that Grover, North Carolina featured adjacent streets named Yoda Drive and Darth Maul Drive. Click on the picture above left. While we're at it, TFN's Eric reminded us tht there are a few streets named after Star Wars characters in Las Vegas as well. Click on the picture above right. I'm sure there's more out there so if you see others, let us know!

Co-writer for the upcoming movie The Green Lantern, Greg Berlanti, recently did a little comparing of his film with Star Wars and Top Gun while speaking iwth The Los Angeles Times:

"The character itself was Top Gun before Maverick. He was a guy who had to learn how to care. He shut down early in his life because of something that happened to him, and suddenly he doesn?t just have to care about himself, he doesn?t just have to care about the planet, he has to care about the entire universe. It was writ so large. The other side of it was that he was always the comic-book version of Luke Skywalker, imagining that you?re picked for this group of heroes that?s there to defend the entire universe. It always had this great kind of wondrous scope to it, and as a kid who ran around in his Superman Underoos, it was a chance to do a superhero movie that went off planet. When you look at all the superhero characters, Hal Jordan is considered sort of Tier 2, but when you talk about which ones have gone off planet and gone beyond our world, he shoots up to No. 1 for a lot of people and goes to the forefront of everybody?s mind."




IslandCrisis.net takes a look at the top selling Star Wars Halloween costumes for adults so far for 2010.
