Chalk this up in the Department of Sequel Trilogy Rumors, but movie web site TotalFilm.com is reporting that Episode VII is due out in the UK on 7/17/2015!
Now this comes at the end of an article that apparently mis-interprets Kathleen Kennedy's comments from the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly (#1234, Nov 23, 2012) in which it states that Kennedy has told employees "she wants the company to produce two or three films a year." The TotalFilm article makes it sound as if those films will all be Star Wars films. I think we can agree that Lucasfilm has other types of films it can produce, and has in the past (Willow, Red Tails, Radioland Murders).
It also makes readers think that Spielberg, JJ Abrams, and Zack Snyder are still in the running, when all three of them (Spielberg, Abrams, Snyder) have issued statements to the contrary.
It appears that majority of this report is taken from a Huffington Post report that also mis-interprets the Entertainment Weekly article, adding in fan speculation from Kotaku.com.
It appears that TotalFilms contribution to the whole kerfuffle, is to have created a speculated release date. So, again I'll say that while unconfirmed, it appears that Episode VII is due out in July of 2015 (at least in the UK)!
It's Official: Star Wars Episode VII Rolls Cameras May 2014 Posted By Philip on March 18, 2014: StarWars.com has posted the news that the cameras will roll on Episode VII in May 2014. The release also goes on to say, "It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time." More after the jump.
