Star Wars Episode VII: Spielberg Won't Direct

Posted By Chris on November 9, 2012

Much to the chagrin of many fans, Steven Spielberg will not be involved in the new Star Wars Trilogy.

Access Hollywood caught up with the legendary director at the AFI FEST 2012 premiere of Lincoln and posed the question: "If asked, would you direct one of the Star Wars movies?"

His answer: "No, because it's not my genre. It's my best friend George's genre."

Check out the video right here.

While this isn't the best news, it certainly opens the door for a host of other directors to vie for the coveted position.
