Star Wars: Ahsoka Fan Event Recap
We are less than one week away from the debut of Star Wars: Ahsoka on Disney+. As part of the anticipation for the series, last night, Disney held five different fan events celebrating the release by showing the first two episodes. The locations for these events included Anaheim, Hollywood, New York City, Orlando, and San Francisco. I was fortunate to receive an invite to the Orlando event which took place at Disney's Hollywood Studios park.
Prior to checking in for the event, guests were able to enjoy the park, cruise through Galaxy's Edge, take in a few rides, build a droid at the Droid Depot, and grab some dinner.
The doors to the Walt Disney Presents Theater opened at 6:30pm. Some light refreshments were served including popcorn, soda, water, blue milk & green milk.
Mark M. Daniel, a familiar Disney host, was in charge of addressing the crowd and giving an introduction to what we were about to see.
Star Wars is made for the big screen. There's just something special about seeing these characters, ships, and locations in a larger-than-life setting with incredible sound. It's the way George Lucas intended us to see it all those years ago, and it's still amazing to me every time I experience it. Up until this screening, I had completely avoided any trailers, so I went in very excited to truly see some new Star Wars for the very first time. I'm not going to get into any specifics about either episode as to not spoil anything for anyone. I will tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw and it's going to be a long two week wait before I'm able to continue the story with the third episode.
At the conclusion of the event, all guests were given the brand new Ahsoka Tano Lightsaber Toy Set and then escorted directly to Galaxy's Edge for a group photo in front of the Millennium Falcon.
It was a great afternoon/evening at Hollywood Studios, and as always, I want to thank both Lucasfilm Ltd. & Disney for their hospitality.
Be sure to catch the premiere of Star Wars: Ahsoka on Tuesday, August 22nd, and subsequent episodes at 9:00pm (Eastern) each Tuesday night exclusively on Disney+.
