Our good friend Aaron Goins ( Star Wars Bookworms Podcast ) is attending All-Star Comic Con this weekend and heard the following at the Tom Kane ( voice of Yoda - Clone Wars ) panel.
So how do we get to nine total? Well first we've got Rian Johnson's trilogy that
was announced back on November 9th, 2017. Then there's the duo from
Game of Thrones fame, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who were
announced on February 6, 2018 as wanting to do multiple films within Star Wars mythology. So for this math equation, we are going to assume they have been given a trilogy as well. We are up to six films total now. Then if you add into the mix the highly rumored Boba Fett and Obi-Wan
Star Wars Stories, plus Episode IX you quickly reach that magic number nine mentioned above. So kind of "new" news, but not really if you've been keeping track at home on the whiteboard.
Also, don't forget that Jon Favreau is writing and producing a "live-action" series for the Disney Direct streaming service coming in 2019. Plus
Star Wars animation returns this fall with
Star Wars Resistance!
There has never been a more productive period in the Star Wars franchise. I say bring it on!
