Saturday night (Nov 14) I was able to attend Star Wars in Concert in Boston with my daughter. It was quite the show.
We got there early to give us plenty of time to see the props and costume displays. It was great to see the items up close and personal. They also showed videos of special effects squences and had some pre-production art on display.
A big highlight was all people in full costumes taking photos with everyone. Storm Troopers, Clone Troopers, Jango and Boba Fett, Wookies, Jedis, a Slave Leia and even a very cool Aayla Secura to name a few. The kids were in heaven (and so were the adults!) This is one of the few Star Wars events I have personally been too where people were in costume and they really made the event that much more special for everyone.
We had seats on the floor, but most any seat was good for this show. They started the concert with the THX music and the 20th Century Fox music, and then right in to the Star Wars theme. Anthony Daniels narration was such a good treat, he even broke into character. It was truly amazing to be able to hear the music live, and to watch the big screen mash ups of different themes and characters that went along to the different pieces. In the end, they were able to tell the whole saga with all the up and downs. My daughter particulary enjoyed the Padme sequence. With a standing ovation at the end, they treated us to an encore of Darth Vaders theme.
It was a really great night, and outstanding show. I highly recommend it if you can catch the show!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
