Oicunn, Barrow
this man was a native of the planet Humbarine, where he served in the planetary navy during the height of the Clone Wars. He believed in the Old Republic, and joined the navy to keep his homeworld free from Separatist control. However, he soon came to doubt the Republic's ability to protect itself, after his requests for additional military resources were ignored. This allowed General Grievous to sweep in and attack Humbarine while it was virtually defenseless, and Oicunn's family was killed in the attack. For his own part in the defense of Humbarine, Oicunn found himself transferred to the Home Fleet defending Coruscant itself. Senator Bana Breemu hailed him as a hero, despite the loss of Humbarine to the Separatists. During the first Battle of Coruscant, Oicunn was given command of the Mas Ramdar, and went into battle with the knowledge that he could exact a measure of revenge against Grievous during the fighting. His valor and success in the space battle over Coruscant earned Oicunn further promotion and a place in the newly established navy of the Galactic Empire, commanding one of the warships that protected the construction site of the first Death Star. Oicunn continued to rise through the ranks, eventually earning the rank of Admiral. He also served as a genetic template for some of the stormtroopers of the Imperial army. (SWDB)

He was known for his drive and skills as a leader, and his ability to take over rival corporations earned him the notice of Passel Argente. Argente later inserted Dassyne into the Corporate Alliance's military branch as a General when the Clone Wars broke out, recognizing good leadership skills and a desire to destroy the opposition. His original posting was on Murkhana, but he complained that there was no action at the remote Corporate Alliance stronghold. He was then assigned to protect Bomis Korri IV, from which he could defend a group of neighboring Mid Rim factory worlds. On Bomis Korri IV, he established what he believed to be an impenetrable fortress, then sat back and waited for the forces of the Grand Army of the Republic to flail against it. He had planned to wait the fighting out, then utterly destroy the Republic's forces. However, he was unprepared for the actions of Anakin Skywalker and his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anakin discovered an underground accessway to Dassyne's main power generator, which the Jedi used to infiltrate the compound and set off a series of massive explosions. With the shields around the fortress down, the Jedi led a small contingent of clone troopers into the breach, with supporting fire from warships stationed in orbit. Dassyne's forces were caught unprepared, and were quickly vanquished. Dassyne himseld died in the assault. (SWDB, CWC3)

Qoribu Crisis
this was the term used by the Galactic Alliance to describe the events that surrounded the initial expansion of the Colony onto various moons in orbit around the planet Qoribu. Driven by the unconscious influence of the Gorog hive, the Colony began to expand closer to Chiss space, creating friction between their two civilizations and nearly starting a massive war. With the intervention of the new Jedi Order and the acceptance of the Galactic Alliance, the Colony agreed to abandon their hives on the Qoribu moons and relocate to Woteba and other planets that were hidden within the Utetegu Nebula. The Qoribu Crisis was believed to have been resolved when Welk was killed by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, an event that supposedly marked the end of the Dark Nest. However, about a year later, the Gorog had reasserted their control over the Colony, causing a new set of challenges for the Alliance. (DN2)

Qoribu Truce
this was the name given to the cessation of hostilities between the Colony and the Chiss, after UnuThul and his Killiks tried to expand beyond their previous borders. The truce called for all nests of the Colony to be relocated to planets within the Utegetu Nebula, where they could exist without encroaching on the territories of other races. The Killiks were also forbidden from any further contact with the Chiss, especially after it was discovered that the larvae of the Gorog nest were feeding on Chiss captives. The Chiss declared that the Qoribu Truce had been broken by the Colony about a year later, when fifteen nest ships commanded by UnuThul tried to escape from the Utegetu Nebula. this female humanoid served as a commander in the resistance that sprang up to oppose the Imperial occupation of Acherin, in the wake of the Clone Wars. She was a former military officer who served during the Clone Wars, when her government had sided with the Conferedacy of Independent Systems. She was also trained as a medic. After the command was given to execute Order 66, the Acherins found themselves subjugated by the Empire, instead of negotiating a peace treaty with the Old Republic. Raina joined her commanding officer, General Toma, in establishing a resistance to the Imperials. Their efforts brought them into contact with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ferus Olin, who were trying to escape from Inquisitor Malorum. Toma and Raina agreed to help get the former Jedi off Acherin, using Toma's own starship to escape. (LJ2)

Rak'qua
this gang of Nautolans was based on Gamma Station, during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. Investigation into the disappearance of many independent starships near the station led to the discovery that the Rak'qua were acquiring the crews and passengers from the ships, which had been ambushed by Gamma Station bounty hunters. The kidnapped beings were then tortured before being turned over to the Empire as slaves. The Rak'qua were sworn to defend their practices against the gangs who were allied with Jorj Car'das, who controlled the upper levels of the station. (SWGAL)

this was one of the access codes used by the designers of the Intellex Four droid brain to lock off certain areas of memory, to secure whatever was stored in the astromech's core. This access code worked only once, before it was confusingly altered and became unusable. In this way, portions of secured memory could be accessed only once, unless the user knew and understood the transformation of the access codes. If an access code was incorrectly entered, the file it accessed was destroyed. Whenever three such files were destroyed, the entire memory core was destroyed to prevent further access. Alema Rar provided this code to Luke Skywalker, about a year after the discovery on holographic recordings of Padme' Amidala and her husband, Anakin Skywalker, that were hidden within the memory core of R2-D2. Alema hoped to prove to Luke that she was not lying about her version of the truth behind the death of Daxar Ies, claiming that the code had been provided to her by Eremay Ies. (DN2)

Razor Net
this vicious device was used by cruel bounty hunters to trap their targets. The razor net was formed from strong cording that was studded with small, razor-sharp barbs. Designed to be an anti-personnel weapon, the Cip-Quad was worn in a special harness that fitted over the chest of a clone trooper, with the dedicated power pack attached to the back. Each barrel of the weapon was fitted with a pair of emitter nozzles, providing double-barreled fire from each round. The individual weapons could be fired on at a time, in pairs, or in a rotating pattern defined by the clone trooper. In this way, the weapon's output could be regulated, depending on the situation. The Cip-Quad was cooled by a dedicated liquid-cooling system, and targetting of the weapon was accomplished by a special heads-up display coupling the fed directly into the clone trooper's helmet. The power of the Cip-Quad was incredible, with a single weapon being capable of taking out an MTT transport with the right application of firepower. (SWDB, CWC3)

Red Bush Grove
this was one of the many Ewok villages found on the Forest Moon of Endor, during the years leading up to the Battle of Endor. Unfortunately, the entire village was destroyed when a lightning strike set off a massive forest fire. The only survivors of the fire were two brothers, Leektar and Keoulkeech. Leektar believed that he had been the cause of the fire, since he had been praying to the Leaf Queen for more importance in the village. (SWDB)

Regulgo
this remote planet was the site of an attack on Han Solo by a fanatical group of Kamarians, whose actions stemmed from his display of Varn, World of Water and its subsequent replacement during the early years of Han's smuggling career. Ret
this heavy-bodied race of humanoids was native to the planet Gelefil. Distinguished by their reptilian features and smooth skin, the Ret were peaceful race of beings who led long lives. Their society was shattered some 322 years before the Battle of Yavin, when the Annoo-dat conquered the planet Gelefil, taking control of the planet. The peaceful Ret eventually adopted much of the Annoo-dat society into their own, and the two races merged into a single society. After many decades of peace, the planet Gelefil was renamed Annoo, in honor of the original homeworld of the Annoo-dat. The Ret came to refer to themselves as Annoo-dat as well, forcing xenobiologists to designate them as the Annoo-dat Blue, in order to avoid confusion with the lizard-like Annoo-dat Prime. (DCAR, DM111)

Rockbeetle
this vicious insect was native to the planet Tatooine. (SWGAL)

Rokrul
this was considered to be the closest thing to a city found on the planet Nelvaan. Rokrul was little more than a loose affiliation of Nelvaanian tribes, who banded together for mutual protection and asistance. During the Clone Wars, the Rokrul villages were plunged into a perpetual winter when the Confederacy of Independent Systems established a secret outpost on Nelvaan. The facility drew intense amounts of geothermal power from the planet's core, power that normally would have provided warmth to the Rokrul area. The facility was eventually destroyed by Anakin Skywalker, but the Rokrul area took decades to recover. (SWDB)

this Wookiee was part of a small gang led by Meelo that operated on Cularin during the final years of the Old Republic. Because of this, he was considered the "founder" of the so-called Wookiee Liberation Front, or WOLF for short. Despite his strength, Roorrrwiir was a jumpy individual, and often reacted without any forethought to the smallest of distractions. Thus often led to nearly-disasterous results, and the formation of the Wookiee Liberation Front was a perfect example. When one of their members was captured and imprisoned by the Metatheran Cartel, Meelo led her inept comrades in a daring escape, which was bungled almost from the start. Roorrr had been given piloting duties for their speeder, despite the fact that he didn't know how to drive, and ended up crashed their speeder into the front window of the Metatheran Cartel's primary facility in Gadrin. In the resulting chaos, Meelo managed to rescue her friend, but the Jawa known as Keth-Keth decided that they needed to cover their escape. Screaming "Free Kashyyyk" as loud as his vocoder would project, Keth-Keth lobbed grenades at police vehicles while calling for people to rally around the Wookiee Liberation Front. Although it was a simple ruse, the Wookiee Liberation Front received a lot of press in the local holonewscasts, and eventually became a legitimate organization that funneled credits and supplies to help the Wookiees of Kashyyyk in their attempt to ousted the Separatist forces that were trying to take control of their homeworld. (LFCW)

Rune
this was the alias used by one of two Almas Academy Jedi - the other was simply known as Nute - who approached Yara Grugara about doing an interview on the current state of the galaxy, in the wake of the Clone Wars and the formation of the first Galactic Empire. The two Jedi, under visual and audio anonymity, tried to explain why the balance of the Force had been upset by the rise to power of Emperor Palpatine. Rune's position was that the Jedi Order may have brought about its own destruction by refusing to acknowledge that the Force had a Light Side and a Dark Side. By teaching Padawans only about the Light Side, the Jedi created an artificial imbalance in the Force. Rune became upset when Nute tried to deflect this line of reasoning as unnecessarily fatalistic, especially when Yara questioned whether or not the Jedi should have taught their students more about the Sith. When Rune agreed with this statement, Nute boisterously disagreed, which further raised Rune's emotions. Nute then tried to explain that the Jedi were only concerned with doing was was right, and Rune's emotional control broke. He drew on power from the Dark Side of the Force and tried to strangle Nute, and Yara was powerless to intervene. The broadcast ended with Rune screaming at Nute about balance, as Nute struggled to draw a breath. (LFCW)

When he spoke, Sancor revealed a mouth full of small, sharp teeth. Sancor was dispatched to Polis Massa after Inquisitor Malorum discovered a connection between the Jedi Order and the asteroid base. An expert of records security, Sancor was sent to Polis Massa to dig through the base's medical records, in an effort to locate anomalies that would provide proof of Padme's Amidala's presence on the asteroid following the formation of the Empire. When he discovered that Maneeli Tuun and Obi-Wan Kenobi were on Polis Massa, disguised as medical and personnel, he tried to apprehend them. During the fight, however, Obi-Wan managed to use the Force to push Sancor off a platform. The Inquisitor fell to his death, landing on a cart covered with medical instruments. (LJ2)

Second Mistake Enterprises
this small transport operation was established by the Squibs Sligh, Grees, and Emala in the wake of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. They were the first company to take a contract from the Colony to transport spinglass scultures of the Millennium Falcon and the X-Wing fighter used by Luke Skywalker during the Battle of Yavin to the rest of the galaxy. Unknown to the Squibs, the scultures contained scores of Gorog assassin bugs, bred for their small size and voracious appetites. The transport ships hired by the Squibs also carried stolen Tibanna gas and hyperdrive components into the Utegetu Nebula, where the Gorog hoped to build starships of their own to reach the rest of the galaxy. (DN2)

Tartuta managed to sever Severian's right hand in their struggle, and Severian was forced to retreat and get medical attention. With his arm bandaged, Severian confronted Autem in the underworld of Coruscant. However, the former Senate Guard was more than a match for the Shistavenan, and eventually stabbed Severian in the chest with a short sword. (RL)

Sheyvan
this weapons expert served as one of the first Emperor's Hands, training the clones of Sa Cuis for Emperor Palpatine during the early years of the New Order. Although he favored the vibroblade, Sheyvan was equally skilled in the use of a lightsaber. Like many of Palpatine's Hands, Sheyvan believed he was the only being directly serving the Emperor, and he was angry and suspicious when he discovered that there were many other Hands scattered across the galaxy. Sheyvan's anger and frustration were only compounded when he learned that another on of the Emperor's Hands was Sa Cuis, a man he had admired. During the flight that transported Palpatine's clones of Sa Cuis back to Coruscant, Sheyvan managed to lead the Cuis clones in a revolt against their master. When Darth Vader confronted Sheyvan about his treachery, Sheyvan railed against the Emperor, demanding that his loyalty to the Empire deserved better than the lies Palpatine had used to control him. After the Dark Lord managed to defeat or destroy the six Cuis clones, Vader sliced Sheyvan from shoulder to hip after a brief struggle, ending the revolt and snuffing out the life of another Emperor's Hand. In the aftermath of the failed rebellion, Vader realized that it had all been a test of the clones of Erv Lekauf, and that Sheyvan's death had been only one among the trillions Palpatine had caused in his lust for power. (SWI85)

Shola
the surface of this planet was dotted with large flows of lava, which were continually moving and forming new land masses.
