We had heard reports a few weeks back that actor Clive Revill had passed away, but there was no official confirmation until today. Sadly, at 94 years old, he was battling dementia and lost the fight on March 11, 2025.
He voiced The Emperor in the original 1980 theatrical version of The Empire Strikes Back. In 2004, when the DVD of Episode V was released, George Lucas had Ian McDiarmid added in to match the look and sound of the character throughout the Star Wars Saga, which removed Revill from the film.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Star Wars community as we mourn the loss of another individual who contributed to making these films that we all hold in such high regard.
