Celebrating 10 Years Of Lucafilm Animation

Posted by Steve on May 8, 2018 at 09:10 AM CST

The past couple of weeks, here at TFN and the ForceCast, we've been looking back at 10 years of Lucasfilm Animation and celebrating the history of both The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels TV series. The ForceCast premiered Part 1 of their amazing star-studded look back at the last ten years on Friday, and don't forget to tune in this Friday for Part 2 where they continue their amazing journey with all your favorite cast and crew.

Today in history marked a huge milestone as the very first trailer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars premiered on television and in movie theatres across the country. This gave fans who weren't in attendance at Star Wars Celebration their first opportunity to see what they had in store for this ground-breaking television event.

The trailer gaves us a wonderful first look at so many characters from the history of Star Wars including Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Sidious, Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi. More importantly we got a great introduction to the Clones themselves, Asaajj Ventress and a little unknown Jedi Padawan named Ahsoka Tano!

What was impressive about this trailer is that it gave us a wonderful look at the type of 3D animation that would become synonymous with Lucasfilm Animation and some of the great voice work we would expect from this excellent cast. The look of the characters themselves, the rich environments we would be visiting and the action sequences were all on full display in amazing Star Wars glory!

So travel back in time ten years ago to May 8th, 2008 and relive this game changing moment when the greater world was introduced to Star Wars: The Clone Wars for the very first time! Check it out...

Amazing how after all this time it still manages to give me chills! For continued coverage of The Clone Wars and the last 10 years of Lucasfilm Animation, don't forget to check out ForceCast podcast this Friday for Part 2 of their 10 Year Special!

Till next time...MTFBWY.
