The 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace brought in $23 million during its opening weekend in the U.S., earning it the #4 spot behind The Vow, Safe House, and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. In international markets, The Phantom Menace 3D made $20.5 million. That's a total worldwide gross of $43.5 million for the 3D re-release's first few days.
As Box Office Mojo notes, this new release improved Episode I's placement on the all-time domestic gross chart.

In addition, The Hollywood Reporterprovides some interesting TPM 3D data from Fox Executive Vice President for Distribution Chris Aronson:
"[T]he exit polls for the 3D rerelease of George Lucas? Star Wars: Episode 1 ? The Phantom Menace were well above average. Of those buying tickets, 60 percent were males, while 49 percent were under the age of 25."
