Star Wars Is Everywhere: Episode XXXI

Posted By Mike on February 13, 2011

Well this episode of Star Wars is Everywhere is about as random as it gets. Enjoy!

Oh, and Happy Valentines Day everybody!

GearLog.com shows us an AT-AT that was created by Star Wars fan Sage Werbock. What's unique about this particular creation is that it was made by welding together old computer parts. Click here for the GearLog article and then here if you'd like to purchase the AT-AT for a mere $450.
(Thanks Al!)

TFN reader "The Last Corellian" brought the Season 2 trailer for the FX show Justified to our attention. The who-shot-first debate continues...

(Thanks "TLC"!)

An Ohio middle school Star Wars club got a little press from the Canfield Neighbors...

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Actually, the date was Jan. 14 and the location was teacher David Izzo?s technology room, where 20 middle school students gathered for the January meeting of Star Wars Club.

The club, started last December by middle school students Tyler Stratton and Jacob Tomory, gathers 20 to 40 members every other week to take part in a role-playing Star Wars game. Every person plays a character who gains a story and skills as the game progresses."

Click here for the full article.

Sci-fi writer John Scalzi examines which characters he feels got better as the Star Wars saga progresses, as well as which caracters got worse. Those who got better: Luke, Obi-Wan, Chewbacca, Jar Jar and Palpatine. Those who got worse: Vader, Yoda, Leia, C-3PO and Boba Fett. Visit FilmCritic.com to check out the explanations behind each choice.

Our friend Justin sent over a recent Hijinks Ensue comic by Joe Watson that includes some Star Wars on Blu-Ray fun. Click on the image above for the full view of the comic.
(Thanks Justin!)

The main title theme from Star Wars gets edged out by Somewhere Over the Rainbow in the Screen Junkies list of the "10 Most Famous Movie Theme Songs." The Indiana Jones theme fell behind Star Wars at #3.

James at Den of Geek lists "10 things Star Wars has taught me about running a fascist dictatorship."

The good folks of the 501st Legion Tampa Bay Squad got a nice write-up at TBNWeekly.com.

UCONN back-up quarterback Johnny McEntee is considered the "Jedi master of meaningless accuracy" thanks to this video spotted at Rivals.com (Yahoo Sports).
(Thanks Donnie!)

Well, it looks like the Jedi have apparently re-emerged in the Washington DC metro area and are flaunting their return with vanity plates!
(Thanks Rob!)

And in the spirit of Valentine's Day, here are some fans enjoying Lawrence Noble's Yoda heart from Union Square.
(Thanks Mark!)

"Unveiled on February 10th, this 5 foot tall, 400lb Star Wars sculpture in San Francisco's Union Square is part of the ongoing hearts art project benefiting San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. It was painted by Laurence Noble, who's work has been collected by George Lucas and Peter Jackson, amongst others, and depicts Yoda on on side and the "Yoda fountain" at Lucasfilm's Presidio headquarters on the other."
