No lame attempts at a witty intro today. Let's just get down to some Star Wars is Everywhere fun...
Stephen Colbert jumped to the defense of Natalie Portman on an episode of The Colbert Report from last week. Former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee had recently spoken out against having children out of wedlock and used Portman as an example. While Colbert stated that he agreed with Huckabee's pro-marriage stance, he could not side with him against the mother of Luke Skywalker. Check out the funny video at EW.com.
Early in the latest episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation, Tom and Ben get into a little argument about the nerdiness of Star Wars. You can view the reference at about the 2:10 mark over at HULU.
Our friend Becca wrote in to share some Star Wars is Everywhere news that sprung from an interet search...
"This isn't earth-shattering news or anything, but it's kinda cool. I was doing a search on Yahoo for something unrelated and I stumbled across a humor site called terriblyunfortunate.com that I thought was pretty funny. I looked on the "About" page and it said the site was created by C. Andrew Nelson! I thought, no it's probably someone else with the same name, but it is him! I confirmed it by following a few links and searching around. The site has photos of odd things (signs printed wrong, strange wording, etc.). It looks like Nelson's wife Veronica Loud takes the photos and he comes up with the captions for them. That's how I confirmed it was really the same C. Andrew Nelson who plays Darth Vader and who worked on games at LucasArts and on the effects for the prequels at ILM because his wife's name is mentioned on his official site (candrewnelson.com) and his name is on her official site (veronicaloud.com) and they are both listed on the Terribly Unfortunate site.
Anyway, being the super SW fan that I am I was surprised and happy to find this site. The Terribly Unfortunate site doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars, but I did see an add on there for the official Star Wars Shop...and...they have TheForce.Net listed as a link under "Sites We Like". I think that's awesome!
Like I said, not major news. Cool though, I thought."
Definitely cool. Thanks for sharing Becca.

TFN reader Mike G. fills us in on Star Wars references in the new film Rango...
"I saw Rango tonight with my wife and son and me being the Star Wars nut that I am, noticed a Star Wars reference! There's a scene where Rango and his crew are roasting marshmallows and Rango takes his burning stick and uses it as a wand to draw some images in the night's sky for all to see as he tells them a story. Well, low and behold one of the images on the left corner of the screen is none other then Darth Vaders tie fighter! Being that the movie is done by ILM, I found this to be quite amusing and felt that you would too! Some feedback on this would be appreciated. Has anyone else informed you of this? May the Force be with you! Always!"
Thanks Mike!
