Star Wars is Everywhere returns this week in full Force with a couple lists, a couple videos, some Star Wars references and much more!
The Star Wars influence is far reaching and the good folks over at Den of Geek have compiled a list of films and television shows that tried their hardest to be Star Wars.
Not too many students get excited for standardized testing but the staff at Jackson Heights Elementary School in California used a little out-of-the-box thinking to get students in the mood to test. From that out-of-the-box thinking sprung a Star Wars theme! Click here to read all about it at ContraCostaTimes.com.
Apparently, The Force was with the 2011 Masters Tournament if you were watching on BBC 2. Check out the video below. (Thanks Siddique!)
Horror director Wes Craven compared the Scream franchise to Star Wars when talking up Scream 4 with Heat Vision at The Hollywood Reporter...
"This is like the Star Wars of horror. It?s got characters that people really love, and they hold up. The format of the show allows for new characters to come in but at the same time, these old characters are there to anchor it. It?s not like a Friday-the-whatever with all new people. It?s the same core. And the characters change and mutate."
Joystickdivision.com shares "Five Things We Learned From Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic."
Congrats goes out to Gabriel Brin-Martin of Holyoke, Massachussets who recently won $1,427,870.10 on a Star Wars Penny Slot. According to the Montville Patch the big Star Wars payday occurred at the Casino of the Sky.
Our friends and artists Stephen Hayford and Robert Hendrickson had their Star Wars work featured at News-Press.com.
Peter Mayhew and a number of fans were recently on 9 News in Denver while promoting StarFest 2011. Check out the video below!
Han and Leia fall in at #1 on io9.com's list of the "10 Most Awesome Married Couples in Science Fiction and Fantasy." (Thanks Justin!)
1UP.com posted a recent interview with the creator of Final Fantasty IV, Takashi Tokita, where they touched on Star Wars homages within the game...
"1UP: There always has seemed to be a kind of Star Wars inspiration in Final Fantasy. Is that something that you have deliberately brought to the games, or is that kind of a coincidence?
Tokita: It's an homage, in a sense, because FFIV has Biggs and Wedge and a Darth Vader type of character in it. We certainly can't say that it's a coincidence. Definitely an homage... there have been sci-fi type elements in Final Fantasy since the first installment. But not just to Star Wars, but to the comics and anime and movies that we grew up with. All the interesting elements have been taken form that and compiled into Final Fantasy."
Our friend Damon B. sent over another SWIE submission...
"I have another SW is Everywhere blurb for you: I noticed that the recent March 14th, 2011 issues for Adweek, Mediaweek, and Brandweek all share a common 2-page article spread which at one point mentions the author having watched ANH on Spike, with some commentary about his thoughts. I've attached a .zip file of these images to this message, and can provide better quality versions if these are unsuitable.
Not much to it, but it may be of interest for preserving for the future!"

And let's wrap things up with some links to the Official Starwars.com Blog that we may not have linked to or covered this week...
