For the first time the Flying Bulls are receiving an intergalactic visitor: the X-Wing Starfighter, the Jedi Knights? famous spaceship in George Lucas's Star Wars, has landed in Austria for the first time and will remain at Hangar-7 until at least June 3.
The 8.8-meter-long X-Wing Starfighter symbolizes the uprising of good against evil and has become world-famous for its unusual equipment in futuristic design: the wings are not the usual H-shape but (in battle-ready position) X-shaped. That means that the Starfighter's modern weapons systems (laser cannon and Proton torpedoes) are always ready for action.
The X-Wing Starfighter has been a cult spaceship since its introduction in 1977 in the first Star Wars episode to be released, A New Hope. There Luke Skywalker flew his Starfighter in the battle against the Death Star.
Intergalactic design is also the hallmark of the Formula One team of Red Bull Racing. RBR's show car has been visually transformed into one of the former Star Wars rockets and is also on display at Hangar-7.
The X-Wing Starfighter and the Formula One show car in Star Wars design can be seen at Hangar-7 from 9 am to 10 pm. Admission is free.
