LeiasMetalBikini.com presents: Slave Leia Group Photo at Comic-Con International!
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars in 1977, Comic-Con International: San Diego will be the site of a massive group photo of Slave Leia costumed fans!
Sitting in the center of all these beautiful, metal bikini-clad ladies will be a life-size Jabba the Hutt, built by the acclaimed statue and sculpture company, Gentle Giant Studios. The event will be at 3pm, Thursday, July 26th at the Gentle Giant booth inside the Exhibit Hall. Slave Ladies are to be at the GG booth at 2:30pm.
The photo is one of a series taken at various conventions, starting in 2005. The first photo of 2007, taken at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles, was an overwhelming success, with media, fans, and photo-seekers clogging the aisles at the Los Angeles convention center. Over 30 women participated in the photo, including television personalities from programs seen on Spike TV, G4, and Ripe TV.
With over 114,000 fans attending Comic-Con International last year, LeiasMetalBikini.com is expecting even more lovely ladies to participate this time around!
LeiasMetalBikini.com originated in 2002 with just a handful of young ladies wearing the sexy slave wear to conventions and parties. Over the course of 5 years, the website has become a phenomenon, with over 250 costumers from around the world sending in their photos.
?I try to bring as many female fans together as possible.? Says Website designer and organizer Jamin Fite. ?Whatever it takes! If I have to make someone a bikini myself, I will.?
The site also lists other artists who sell their own versions of the bikini.
The Slave Leia bikini was made famous in the 1983 Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi. Maxim Magazine voted the Slave Leia bikini as the number one hottest nerd crush, and the E! Entertainment channel recently listed it as the 16th most memorable ?swimsuit? moment.
