An interesting auction has gone up that claims to be a real Liam Neeson screen-used Lightsaber, and there are a couple of things that make it interesting. First off, the seller dropped the name of the 'original owner' and the name checks out on IMDB. Secondly, it looks like it's seen some action and the dust tells us it's been around for a while. Being a card-carrying member of the I.A.T.S.E. properties department, however, it seems odd to me that a stunt performer would have been legitimately given one of these props, especially since Lucasfilm isn't known to have set sales after filming ends. What's more, there is nothing preventing the prop makers from remaking a prop after a film is wrapped... other than professionalism that is. There is no evidence that this is real, but equally none that proves it's fake. While we are still looking into it, we thought you'd like to see for yourself.
