Star Wars gamers tend to look at Star Wars video games in a couple of ways. Some of us tend to like just about anything that places us in the GFFA. Others, especially hardcore gamers, feel that the Star Wars video game medium has historically displayed more potential than satisfying output. While I may personally fall into the former categoty, new LucasArts president Paul Meegan tends to fall into the latter per comments he made to gaming site MCV. Check out a couple of the quote excerpts below.
?LucasArts is a company with tremendous potential,? he said. ?I think people look at it and wonder why it hasn?t done better in recent years."
?In recent years, LucasArts hasn?t always done a good job of making games. We should be making games that define our medium, that are competitive with the best of our industry, but we?re not. That has to change."
You can't help but appreciate those kind of candid quotes from the head of LucasArts and hopefully such a mentality will only help to bring forth some fantastic Star Wars games in the not-too-distant future. (Battlefront III please!) Read the full MCV article, with some more quotes, here.
