Sam Witwer Talks About His TCW Role

Posted By Mike on January 29, 2011

Besides the episode guide and Star Wars Soundboards expansion, Starwars.com provides yet another companion piece to TCW: "Overlords" (S3 Ep. 15) in the form of an interview with Sam Witwer. Better known to Star Wars gamers as the voice of Starkiller in The Force Unleashed, Witwer made his Clone Wars debut last evening as the quite-powerful "Son." Check out the teaser intro below but then make sure to click here for the interview.

"Sam Witwer, who fans may recognize as the actor portraying Vader's secret apprentice in The Force Unleashed video games and as the vampire Aidan in the SyFy's Being Human, returns to the Star Wars universe tonight in the first of a trilogy of Clone Wars episodes that begins with "Overlords."

No stranger to portraying a character gripped by evil -- his role in The Force Unleashed included both Starkiller and the voice of the Emperor -- Witwer brings a dark side sensibility and an intimate knowledge of the Star Wars universe to his role as the "Son" in the Mortis trilogy, a character fittingly as vague and mysterious as the Force itself.

Joined by his Force Unleashed co-star Adrienne Wilkinson (Maris Brood) as the "Daughter," her embodiment of the good side of the Force acts as counterbalance to Witwer's dark side Son, setting the stage for what the actor calls The Clone Wars' most "mythically-charged" episodes yet.

We asked Witwer about his work in The Clone Wars and how he interpreted his role as the physical manifestation of the dark side of the Force:"
