Getting excited for the Season 3 finale of The Clone Wars tomorrow night? Well here are a couple of TCW-related interviews to help hold you over until showtime.
First up, the lovely Ashley Eckstein provided an interview to About.com talking up Ahsoka, fandom and Her Universe. Check out the excerpt below but then make sure to click here for the full 3-page read.
"What about the big question on everyone's mind: Ahsoka's fate? If it were up to her, what would happen to Ahsoka? Would she go down in a blaze of glory, or survive Order 66 and go on to play a bigger role in the Star Wars universe?
"That's definitely the number one question that people always ask me," said Eckstein with a laugh. "I've become so emotionally attached to the character [that] just the thought of anything bad happening to her automatically makes me emotional. I'll even sometimes tear up when I hear some of the theories about what happens... We all know, in the Star Wars storyline... that the Jedi aren't supposed to be attached. So I'm probably not the best person to say what the best thing for Ahsoka is, because of my attachment to her.
"That being said, I trust and respect so much Dave Filoni, the writers, and of course George Lucas, who obviously created all of this and is very much involved in our show. And I know that... they're going to make the best decision for the overall storyline, and for Ahsoka. So at the end of the day, whatever happens, I know that the right decision is going to be made, and I'm fine with whatever her legacy turns out to be... Of course I'd love to see her survive and live forever, but at the end of the day, that might not be the best thing."
And considering it looks like Chewie and Ahsoka will be getting to know each other during the finale, it's only fitting that the second interview centers on Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew. Sky Movies got a chance to talk with everyone's favorite Wookiee actor and not everything centered on The Clone Wars as is evident by the following excerpt...
"David Prowse turned down the chance to play Chewie because he wanted to be Darth Vader. Do you think you could have played Vader if that hadn't of been the case?
I don't know. I reserve judgement on that. He would certainly have been different. Dave is a lot squarer. Dave would have turned Chewie into General Tarful from Episode III because he's built that way. Big muscles, big chest. He would have been a totally different character. He would have almost been a Rambo or a Schwarzenegger. But the way that it turned out I'm glad he turned it down. No disrespects. I probably could have done it, but I probably wouldn't have had as much fun as I did with Chewie."
