Well it looks as if the Star Wars Insider is again moving from one publisher to another. Yep, say good bye to IDG Entertainment and hello Titan Publishing! It's always sad to see a publisher go ( I remember Paizo like it was yesterday ) and from all of us here at TheForce.net we want to say thanks to everyone who was involved at IDG Entertainment. Thank you all for keeping the magazine going in this internet age of news on demand. We appreciate all your hard work!
Now who's this Titan Publishing? Here's a snippet from the official website:
Thirty years after that unforgettable time, Titan Magazines -- the world's leading publisher of officially licensed film and television magazines -- is proud to announce that it will take over publication of Star Wars Insider, the magazine that has long been the official source of Star Wars news and features for Star Wars fans all over the world.
Titan will utilize its wealth of experience and understanding of both the science-fiction/fantasy and entertainment markets to raise Star Wars Insider to a new level of excellence.
For more information on Titan Magazines' portfolio of titles, which includes Lost, 24, Star Trek, Charmed, Smallville, Stargate SG:1/Atlantis, Prison Break, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Grey's Anatomy, as well as the official Star Wars Magazine in the U.K., please see: www.titanmagazines.com.
Now along with the new publisher also come new rules for the "Fan Club" or Hyperspace as it has become known. You will now be able to subscribe to either one separately, or both! You can read all the details right here in a FAQ they've prepared at Starwars.com.
So why all the changes? Here's the answer from Lucasfilm near the bottom of the article.
"Based on feedback from fans, we felt that it would be better to offer people the choice of getting either the entire package or the individual components. As for having the Insider published by Titan Magazines, we have long believed that change is a good thing for the magazine. We've been fortunate to have so many great publishers with a passion for Star Wars to contribute their vision to the Insider as it has evolved over the years. Titan brings with it years of experience in publishing movie and television magazines worldwide, and has been publishing Star Wars magazine in the U.K. (and now Australia) for a decade."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
