Star Wars will be making it's return to the Maryland-based Bowie Baysox minor league baseball team on Saturday, June 25 as the Baysox present this year's Star Wars Saturday Night.
"Grab your lightsabers, jump in your landspeeders and get ready for Star Wars Saturday Night. Star Wars enthusiasts from the Old Line Garrison of the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion don movie-quality replica costumes and there will be lightsaber battles throughout the stadium. After the game, the Baysox host a fireworks display that is more dazzling than the twin suns of Tatooine."
I'll be there with at least one of my younglings for what should be a fun evening. Basic details can be found below and you can also click here for directions and ticket information.

Intergalactic Confrontation Escalates in Bowie Baysox Host Star Wars Night June 25
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox are preparing for an intergalactic conflict as the team hosts Star Wars Night at Prince George's Stadium Saturday, June 25, as the Baysox take on the Binghamton Mets at 6:35 p.m. The event is presented by Criswall Acura Audi and features characters in movie-quality replica costumes, lightsaber battles, droids, pre and postgame performances, the opportunity to become a Jedi knight and a fireworks extravaganza after the encounter reaches a climax.
The stadium has long been a safe haven for the rebel alliance, hosting Jedi Knights, rebel pilots and other members of the Terrapin Base of the Rebel Legion, and the conflict begins when Darth Vader, storm troopers and other members of the Old Line Garrison and Garrison Tyranus of the 501st Legion invade the ballpark to quell the resistance. The tension will reach a boiling point when Jedi Knights and Sith Lords from the Defenders of the Force hold lightsaber battles between innings and before the fireworks.
Despite the conflict, fans are encouraged to attend the game to see a special pregame performance by the DDP Drill Team featuring lightsabers. Fans can also meet members of the R2-D2 Builders Club, and learn how to build their own droids.
The Defenders of the Force will have a table on the stadium concourse, and during the game fans can make a charitable donation to Louie's Holiday Hope Project. In exchange for their donations, fans will be knighted as honorary Jedi Knight, complete with documentation.
"This year, Star Wars Saturday will be more fun than ever before," said Promotions Manager Chris Rogers. "The battles will be more exciting, the performances will be more realistic and for the first time, fans will even have the chance to be knighted as an honorary Jedi Knight during the game."
Since its release on May 25, 1977, "Star Wars" has been an integral part of American pop culture, spanning six films, an animated series, several video games and numerous works of fiction. The team will show clips from the films on the video board throughout the game.
Baysox Baseball - We'll Knock Your 'Sox Off. The Baysox 19th season as the class Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles is underway. Parking is free at every Baysox home game and tickets are now available at www.baysox.com or by calling the Baysox box office at (301) 464-4865.
