We know that Microsoft is working on a Star Wars game that will work with its Kinect motion tracking system, but until this week we'd heard nothing about a competing title for Sony's Playstation and its PS Move add-on. There was a rumor about a PS Move lightsaber add-on, but the teaser image suggested that this accessory would accompany some sort of The Force Unleashed release, not a brand new game.
Sony remained quiet in the wake of Microsoft's Kinect Star Wars announcement, but it looks like that silence was broken, at least unofficially, when Sony's Anton Mikhailov did an interview with Eurogamer. Mikhailov slammed Kinect and its Star Wars game, saying, "There's no way Kinect can do a good lightsaber game." He also said that the Kinect game demo shown at E3 looked like it had been "faked." While this sort of competitive commentary is nothing new, Mikhailov went on to reveal that Sony was working on their own Star Wars game that would take advantage of the PS Move's Kinect-like functionality. "It'll be damn better than Kinect could ever do," he said of the work-in-progress.
The Kinect game will be released next year during the holiday season, and aside from this slip of the tongue from Mr. Mikhailov, nothing has been announced regarding Sony's competing title.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
