E3 2011 is almost upon us and besides new footage on the way from Star Wars Kinect, Star Wars: The Old Republic looks to make a lot of headlines by revealing more about the game than in previous years. Those previous years were not without their highlights lest we forget the mind blowing TOR cinematic trailers. But as for this year, let's first remember to check out the Spike TV broadcast of the Electronic Arts 2011 press conference/preview at 3:30PM EST/12:30PM PT on Monday, June 6th. EA.com will also be streaming the press conference. Considering the official site of The Old Republic is reminding us to watch, we're bound to get some sort of game preview and hopefully a new cinematic trailer. The hopes for a new cinematic trailer, and then some, are backed up by this preview from SWTOR.com:
"You may recall the dramatic cinematic trailers we?ve released at previous E3 shows. First, ?Deceived? showed the dark triumph the Sith Empire achieved by sacking Coruscant and destroying the Jedi Temple. Then ?Hope? took us back a few years in Old Republic history to the courageous stand made by Republic heroes in the Battle of Alderaan. These are critical points in the history of The Old Republic, but there?s another moment that we?ve yet to share.
The planet of Belsavis holds a terrible secret; a secret unknown to both the Empire and Republic for thousands of years. Now, groups of elite heroes must fight to prevent this ancient threat from escaping and causing massive destruction. Prepare yourself for your first encounter with the Eternity Vault.
You?ve seen Alderaan?s beautiful vistas; you?ve seen the action-packed Warzone. Now you?ll see a showdown with an army of zealous soldiers, protecting a military general who has seized control of the throne. Removing this usurper is not going to be easy, but someone has to do it?
Sandpeople are easily startled, but they?ll come back soon, and in greater numbers? and that might just be the beginning. E3 attendees will get to battle Sandpeople and experience something that?s never been seen before on Tatooine... stay tuned to see it here."
Make sure to visit the E3 SWTOR.com source post for preview images, showfloor booth hours, and a run-down of media outlets that will be providing video and coverage throughout the week. Of course, you can always just keep checking in with TFN and we'll be sure to keep you updated.
And how about a Star Wars: The Old Republic E3 2011 preview trailer courtesy of GameSpot.com...
Besides the video, GameSpot.com dives into TOR at E3 and beyond through a detailed interview with writing director Daniel Erickson, lead flashpoint/raids/player-versus-player designer Gabe Amantangelo, and lead systems designer Damion Schubert.
IGN lists Thursday, June 9th at 11:00AM as a time to tune-in for a Live Show on Star Wars: The Old Republic.
And finally, for an all-around MMO E3 preview visit G4TV.com, whom I'm sure will be providing us content as we cover SWTOR at E3 this week. Stay tuned!
The E3 Expo 2011 runs from June 7 to 9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
