It's the weekend which means it's time to wrap up the past week in news and links regarding Star Wars: The Old Republic. As per usual, let's start with news coming out of the official TOR site.
First up, for those eagerly awaiting Beta Test invites, SWTOR.com announced that their biggest testing weekend to date will be happening before the end of the month. Of course, you would have had to have registered by 11-11-11 in order to be eligible for this particular testing weekend. The SWTOR.com source post includes links to a number of webites offering promotions to get into the Beta Testing program.
Next, the TOR site has made a new addition to their "Choose Your Side" video series. This second installment, of a four-part series, examines what happens when a Sith Inquisitor battles it out with a Republic Trooper.
SWTOR.com is stepping up their account security measures. If you had registered with the site prior to October 21, 2011, then you will be receiving notification within the next month that will require you to reset your password. Click here for the full read concerning account security.
"Held each year at the Elmia Fair in J?nk?ping, Sweden, DreamHack is far and away the largest "LAN party" in the world. BioWare and LucasArts will be attending the event this year to give people the chance to play Star Wars?: The Old Republic? before its worldwide launch on December 20th.
The DreamHack event begins at 8:00AM CET on Thursday, November 24th and runs, non-stop, until 8:00AM CET on Sunday, November 27th. Members of BioWare?s European Community Team will be on hand throughout the weekend."
And last but not least, VideoGamer.com reports comments by Gamebrief's Nicholas Lovell that SW:TOR will one of the last big subscription-based MMOs to be released. This is due to his assertion that free-to-play games are the wave of the future.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
