Starwars.com brings us up to speed on the sure-to-be-popular Star Wars Celebration V Costume Contests...
"Costuming is a great tradition for enthusiasts of many pop culture properties, but Star Wars fans have taken costuming to a whole new level of creativity, expertise, and accuracy. Those who enjoy creating and wearing Star Wars costumes could have two opportunities to display their talent on stage at Celebration V this August in Orlando, and kids will have even more chances to strut their creations. The tremendous response for the costume contests at past Celebrations has demonstrated that multiple shows are needed to accommodate all the Star Wars fans who make great costumes and want to show them off. Also, in the Star Wars Family Room, kids can take part in regularly scheduled, but less formal pageants on the kid-sized stage.
The two exciting Costume Pageants are scheduled for Friday August 13 and Sunday August 15, tentatively in the afternoon each day. The costumes will surely rival the most exquisite finery in Coruscant, so make plans to enter or attend the shows. Specific categories (such as "villain," "hero," or "queens") will be determined based on entries, but each Pageant will have a kids' category, plus a standard and expert category. These events are free to spectators.
Also free to spectators, and perfect for families, afternoon pageants in the Star Wars Family Room will give kids the chance to show off their costumes in a more personal setting. Kids can sign up in the Family Room right before the scheduled shows, currently planned for Friday and Saturday afternoons, August 13 and 14. Check back for times closer to the show, and check the onsite schedule.
Get working! Applicants for the Pageants will be selected as space in each show permits. Please click here to see a complete list of rules and guidelines for the Costume Pageants, and to download the registration form."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
