Fifth Avenue Family Festival 2012
Brooklyn, NY (March 20) The charitable community arts organization Puppetry Arts will once again partner with the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District (5 Avenue BID) of Park Slope to host the 3rd Annual Fifth Avenue Family Festival. The event will be held on Saturday April 28th, 2012 11:00am-4:00pm on 4th Street at 5th Ave along the park at the Old Stone House rain or shine.
Free admission and open to the public, this family festival includes puppet and mask making, face painting, bouncy moon walk, cotton candy, hot dogs and more! Local BID restaurants like 7-Eleven, Backyard, and Baluchis will be selling food, and there will be live performances by local bands all day including the Berkley Carroll Jazz Ensemble. Fuze Beverage will invite kids to create unique spin art with a bicycle and NY Life will give parents the chance to create ID kits for their kids. The first 200 kids will receive 5th Ave BID Gift Bags filled with tons of goodies.
"Our events have become a tradition for many families," says Puppetry Arts Executive Director Tim Young, "We certainly appreciate the support we get from the community to host them helping us secure enriching family activities."
Special guests include Sandy the Seagull, the Good Neighbear from State Farm, and cameos by Star Wars Costume Volunteers from the 501st Empire City Garrison and the Echo Base Rebel Legion.
Puppetry Arts secures free puppet making workshops in public schools that coincide with the grade level curriculum, it produces free public performances of its original musicals for families and adults, and the organization hosts large community events that provide accessible and affordable family activities. Supporting all of these projects is the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP!) which is a civic-based volunteer program for youth. Puppetry Arts is in fact, the little organization that does big things!
Activities include $2.00 Games and Crafts, $4.00 Bouncy Moon Walk, $3.00 Snacks. Wheelchair accessible.

Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
