TFN's Episode II Spoiler Policy
We've given this all quite a bit of thought and wanted to clarify and set our own policy, so you know just how we plan on covering Episode II. These are hard and fast rules, we will not try to make any exceptions if at all possible. What exactly constitutes a spoiler for a movie?
TFN's Definition: A spoiler is any major plot point in the film that may diminish a particular surprise in the movie's plotline. It is for plot points like "there is a pod race in Phantom" or "I am your father." This would also include our own personal speculation about spoiler information as well, and detailed character descriptions. Many folks want to visit TFN and their favorite Star Wars sites, yet don't want to undermine any part of the feeling of the movie as the words roll up the screen and the soundtrack blares. If there is something to do with a decision a character makes or even something like actual dialogue - it'll be covered it up. On this same vein, this would mean that all casting information, character names and official pictures can be published without making fans highlight. It may be easier to just make a list so in short here's what you can expect from us on Episode II spoilers in the next year and a half. Here's how we'll treat the following items:
StarWars.Com announcements - non-spoiler
cast names - non-spoiler
character names - non-spoiler
official photos - non-spoiler
spy photos - spoiler
character descriptions - spoiler
dialogue - spoiler
plot points - spoiler
plot speculation - spoiler
We will also do our very best to make sure that headlines will not contain what we believe to be spoilers of any kind. We want to honor and respect fans on both sides of the fence, and want to assure you that TFN is a welcome place for both groups.
