The Anatomy of Star Wars

As part of our wide variety of Guardian Masterclasses we will be holding The Anatomy of Star Wars, a two day course that explores how this iconic film was created.

Taking place at the Renoir Cinema, London on 14th and 15th May, the course will offer first-hand insights from Gary Kurtz, producer of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Accompanying Kurtz will be former Vice President of 20th Century Fox International, Sandy Lieberson, whose supervised production of Blade Runner and Alien, as well as producing Rita, Sue and Bob too, Swastika and over 20 other films and documentaries.

The ultimate experience for any Star Wars fan, Kurtz and Lieberson will cover a range of topics, including:

The film's origins and inspirations
Visual and audio development
Special effects
Editing
Pre- and post-production
