StarWars.com Forums Shutting Down In June

Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo has announced that Lucas Online will be closing its official forums in June, with no new posts after the end of April. See below for the details from his announcement.

"April 2011 will be the last month of active message boards on StarWars.com. On Friday, April 29 the forums will be locked into a read-only mode, so that users can look through older posts and copy any they may wish to keep for posterity. On Friday, June 3rd, the official StarWars.com forums will shut down entirely."

The StarWars.com forums have been online since October 2001 and have featured conversations with various Star Wars VIPs. Lucas Licensing's Sue Rostoni had an ongoing dialog with Del Rey customers where she responded to fan questions and concerns. The forums received a facelift in July 2010 that gave users several new features.

As a reminder, TFN's Jedi Council Forums and Rebelscum's message boards are still open for business.
