Jimmy Mac from The ForceCast has posted more photo and video coverage of his trip to Skywalker Ranch. Check out his latest report below.
Here is the latest in our series of reports from Skywalker Ranch. These pix, all pulled from my cell phone, were taken inside the Technical Building during the huge media event to celebrate the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D.
Many props from the films were on display as well as costumes for Darth Maul and Queen Amidala, lightsabers, and a full-sized version of Anakin's Podracer. Bonnie Burton from Lucasfilm was on hand to cover the event for StarWars.com, along with tons of media from all over the world. Skywalker Sound's Matthew Wood sat down in the makeup chair for a little touch-up while, right behind him, little kids had impromptu lightsaber duels. Clone Wars CG Supervisor Joel Aron suspiciously had his eyes on Darth Maul prior to meeting with the media. C-3PO and R2-D2 were on-hand for quick photo ops, and Obi-Shawn made the rounds with his pal, Yoda.
Per Jason's request, I had someone shoot video of me playing Kinect Star Wars for the first time. I played the podrace level and I must say, the game is an absolute blast! I never played a video game without a controller before and I found the response time to be surprisingly tight. Plus, the graphics are simply amazing! "BOOST!" Also, enjoy these videos offering an insiders look at the home of Skywalker Sound including peeks behind the doors of the awesome Akira Kurosawa mixing room and the impressive Stag Theater- which features two statues from Palpatine's office flanking the left and right sides of the movie screen!
