post production

Post-production involves editing the best scenes into the final video program, correcting and enhancing video and audio where necessary. Editing includes a first draft, or rough cut, where you can get a general idea of the possibilities you have with the clips available to you. As you continue editing, you refine the video program through successive interactions until you decide that its finished. At that point you have built the final cut.

CODECs and Compressions
CODEC is an abbreviation for COmpression / DECompression. It is critical in developing the fan film to understand the purpose and proper use of one.

Choice of Colors for Lightsabers
Choice of color for the blade of your lightsaber can be a very personal decision. It is a relection of the personality of the knight or sith wielding it.

Rotoscoping Lightsabers onto an Adobe Premiere Filmstrip
Ever since we saw the original Star Wars in 1977, enthusiasts have been wanting to have the ability to generate similar effects. Well it's been a long wait, but finally the equipment and the technique are within our grasp!

Sound Effects
Many of the sound effects you can use on your fan film maybe closer than you think. Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and The Phantom Menace game have dozens of great effects. If you need the extraction utilities or just would like the .wav files, we have them.

Lightsaber F/X
With creative audio editing these sounds should cover any sound your lightsaber can possibly make. From a double-bladed twirl to single-bladed blast deflection.
