The Factions and Their Representatives

Written by Ternian for TheForce.Net

COMMERCE GUILD

The Commerce Guild represents large commercial enterprises throughout the galaxy. During the events leading to the Clone Wars, the Commerce Guild joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

SHU MAI, Representative
Shu Mai represented the Commerce Guild during the events leading to the Clone Wars when the Commerce Guild became a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This separation was caused by the taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems, which resulted in the Naboo system being invaded.

CORPORATE ALLIANCE

The Corporate Alliance represents the huge business corporations within the galaxy. The Corporate Alliance sided with the Trade Federation during the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo; unhappy with the results the tax to outlying star systems would impose on the profits generated by the Alliance. The Corporate Alliance eventually joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

PASSEL ARGENTE, Magistrate (Picture)
Passel Argente represented the Corporate Alliance in the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo, siding with the Trade Federation in the Galactic Senate against the taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems. He was afraid of the loss of profit the tax would impose on the Alliance. During the events leading to the Clone Wars, Passel Argente became a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He continued to serve the Corporate Alliance until the downfall of the Republic and the beginning of the Empire.

TWINK KEE, Aide (right of Picture)
Twink Kee was Magistrate Passel Argente?s Aide during the events leading to the Clone Wars.

INTER GALACTIC BANK CLAN

The Inter Galactic Bank Clan represented thousands of banks throughout the galaxy and amassed vast amounts of wealth from investments. During the events leading to the Clone Wars, the Inter Galactic Bank Clan funded the production of millions of Battle Droids for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Funds from the production of the Battle Droids were unknowingly sent to the mining planet of Kamino for the production of millions of clone warriors on behalf of the Republic.

SAN HILL, Representative
San Hill represented the Inter Galactic Bank Clan during the events leading to the Clone Wars. San Hill oversaw the production of a vast Confederate army on Geonosis with the help of the Trade Federation Viceroy, Nute Gunray and Confederate leader, Count Dooku. San Hill was unaware that funds from the battle droid production was being leaked to the production of clones on Kamino; clones that would fight against the battle droids.

TRADE FEDERATION

The Trade Federation is a powerful organisation of bureaucrats and trade officials from many worlds that controls the transport lanes of the galaxy and is led by the Neimoidians. The Trade Federation is so powerful, it has its own representation in the Galactic Senate. The Trade Federation blockaded Naboo after a tax was placed on the trade routes to outlying star systems which was once tax-free. Although reprimanded for the actions that led to the blockade and eventual invasion of Naboo, the Federation grew stronger amongst the commerce sector.

LOTT DOD, Senator (Picture)
Lott Dod represented the Trade Federation in the Galactic Senate during the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo. Lott Dod tried to stall Queen Amidala?s plea for help by citing procedure and demanding a commission be sent to Naboo to ?ascertain the truth.? His Diplomatic Attache and Financial Officer helped to garner support which they got from Senator Ask Moe of the Congress of Malastare. By the time of the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation had seperated from the Galactic Republic and was a major player in the Confederacy of Independent Systems led by Count Dooku.

NUTE GUNRAY, Viceroy (Picture)
Nute Gunray was the Commanding Viceroy of the Trade Federation during the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo and served on the Trade Federation Executive Board. Condemned for his actions in the Galactic Senate, the reprimand only brought him and the Trade Federation more power from amongst the bureaucrats. He eventually teamed up with a former Jedi Master, Count Dooku and helped lead a split from the Republic. He used his close contacts with many of the trade and commerce factions to bring together the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the events leading to the Clone Wars, Nute Gunray played a vital role in establishing close contacts with the Archduke of Geonosis, Poggle. Under Nute Gunray?s direction, the Archduke provided vast armies for the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

RUNE HAAKO, Settlements Officer (Picture)
Rune Haako was the Settlements Officer for the Trade Federation during the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo. He served as a diplomatic attache and legal advisor to Viceroy Nute Gunray during the invasion of Naboo.

TC-14, Aide (Picture)
TC-14 served Viceroy, Nute Gunray, and Settlements Officer, Rune Haako, in the events surrounding the invasion of Naboo as a servant. He also was also the translator during trade negotiations with foreign cultures for the Viceroy and Settlements Officer.

TECHNO UNION

The Techno Union played a huge part in splitting the Republic. The Techno Union was behind the vast array of armies made for the Trade Federation for the invasion of Naboo under the watchful eye of Archduke Poggle the Lesser. They continued to supply droids in the Battle of Geonosis and helped develop the Super Battle Droid and Droidekas. Through the Techno Union, Master Sido-Dyas was aquainted with President Lama Su of Kamino. The Techno Union unknowingly helped secretly create millions of clone troopers for the Republic.

MINING GUILD

The Mining Guild became embroiled in the events leading to the Clone Wars when disgruntled Bogden Moon spice miners were seen to be behind the attacks on Senator Amidala of the Naboo. During the rule of the Empire, Darth Vader used the Mining Guild?s influence to get Lando Calrissian to hand over members of the Rebel Alliance on Cloud City, Bespin.
