THE LONG HUNT: As the Falcon stops for supplies at the Bazarre on Tirahhn, a trading nexus, Luke and Leia are recognized sight-seeing by a spy for Kharys, the Majestrix of Skye. She arrives flanked by Catuman Warriors, frames Leia for stealing her purse, and sends the Catumen to kill them. They flee and the Catumen give chase. As one rakes Luke's chest with a claw, Han and Chewie shoot the Catumen, bring Luke and Leia to the ship, and treat his cuts; R2 heard an alarm and tracked them using a Spy-Eye. Katya M'Buele, a smuggler and ex-lover with whom Han served on a Corellian Rim-Runner, visits and recognizes Kharys when Luke tells what happened. Han tells Katya to stay on the ship, then goes to the Heights, home to elite merchant princes, to find Laskar, a thief/businessman who owes Han money and knows Kharys. That night, as Chewie broods that Han didn't confide in him, a Smoke Demon absorbs Katya's body, attacking the Rebels when they try to help, but Luke kills it with his lightsaber, freeing its victims' souls. Han is sad to hear of her death and takes the Falcon out to space, barely missing a Tagge Starliner. For days they traverse hyperspace, arriving at Marat V (or Skye), an obscure, restricted Rim- world where Han and Katya once smuggled goods until Kharys killed their 18 Corellian ship-mates; they now live in fear of her. Upon arrival, he are taunted by a hologram of Kharys as three TIEs attack. Leia destroys them but as more attack, Han hides in the clouds, launches the others in an escape pod, and fights the TIEs until being shot down. As Luke awakens in a Skye cell with Leia, Aragh, Lord of the Highlands and Patriarch of the S'kytri (or Windborn), arrives to try them for profaning the Sacred Aeries. A DUEL OF EAGLES: Luke and Leia stand before Deverén, leader of the Supreme Council of the Highland Clans. The droids are nearby in stasis. Leia pleads their case but the Council plans to give her to an Imperial legate until they hear Luke's name, for a Skywalker was their blood-brother. Suspecting he is "the One" prophesied to defeat Kharys, they reveal that she took Han and Chewie to her stronghold atop the highest mountain, and when he vows to rescue them, they agree to help. Working for Vader, Kharys uses an interrogator droid to pry data on Leia and Luke from Han and Chewie. Aragh and the Clans fly to the castle with Luke and Leia in wing-suits but the troops ignore them, thinking this an initiation hunt. Leia pretends to hit a down-draft and fall, and as troops bet if her mate will save her, Luke shoots them. Leia sheds her wings and enters the castle to rescue Han and Chewie while Luke guards from the sky, having flown gliders and T-16s as a boy. She finds them but is clawed by two Catumen, losing her rifle, then grabs her gun and kills one, who crashes into a force-field, freeing Chewie to kill the other Catuman. Kharys escapes in the fray, and amid background explosions, Chewie carries Han out, who is too weak to walk. As Luke kills an army of troops, Kharys watches from above, realizes he's "the One," and vows to kill him for Vader. She attacks him with a lightsaber and the Force while the S'kytri watch from below, but he defeats her, fulfilling prophecy. Freed by her death, the S'kytri kill all the troops, then Aragh tells Luke that during the Clone Wars, Ben Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Vader saved Skye from destruction, so the grateful S'kytri swore allegiance to them. Years later, after killing the other Jedi, Vader returned to remind them of their oath and they served, awaiting "the One," Skywalker's son, to save them. Later on, as the Falcon leaves Skye, Luke cherishes this small glimpse at his father's life.
