Luke crouches among Saijo ruins, spying on Tofs. Knife approaches from behind, amazed Luke not only knows he's there but that Tof snipers are nearby. He wants his people to learn the Force once the war is over. Han, Leia, Den Siva, Dani, Fenn Shysa, the droids, Maggie, and Trif watch from other points, musing how the Tofs have killed or enslaved this sector. Han is unhappy allying with the Nagai, but Leia reminds him they were desperate people. Sensing frayed tempers, Luke recalls a meeting at which Ackbar and Mothma told them, as well as Bahb, Jahn, Marruc, Rahuhl, a Stenax, an Ewok, a Lahsbee, and the Hoojibs, that an Alliance spy learned that Saijo, site of past Rebel/Imperial and Rebel/Nagai battles, is now Tof Prince Sereno's base. Ackbar assigned them to capture him while Lando, Chewie, Wedge, and Nien Nunb lead a space attack. Knife scorns Den and Dani's relationship; she does not love him, but stays with him for they are kindred outcasts. The Merriweather arrives to conduct trade, while on Saijo, Luke stops Den and Knife from killing four passing Tofs. Knife and Han argue over Bey's loyalty, but Fenn stops them. Luke begins the strike with Han, Leia, Den, Knife, and Dani, the others awaiting Lando's signal. They find Tof headquarters, where Tofs are taking Nagai slaves to Sereno. Inside, Lumiya has now allied with the Tofs. Den and Knife pose as slaves to gain entry, then kill their Tof guard and capture Sereno. When Lumiya stuns them, Luke and the others join the fight. In the chaos, Lumiya tries to kill Knife for helping Luke; Leia fires but Lumiya pulls Leia's gun to her. In space, Tof ships find Lando's Star Destroyer. Gold Squadron launches with the Falcon in the lead, and the X-Wings defeat the Tof ships. Luke subdues Sereno as Lumiya takes aim at Leia. Suddenly, a Tof enters and kills Lumiya. Lando signals that Merriweather has surrendered, and Sereno does likewise, then Lumiya's killer reveals himself to be Bey, who became Ackbar's agent among the Tofs to keep them from killing either of his "brothers." Touched, Han and Knife put past differences aside, and as Sereno is brought to Alliance headquarters with Fenn left in charge, Leia and Luke rejoice that, at long last, peace is attainable in the galaxy.
