Han refuses to bring the Hoojibs and the droids on the Falcon for a special mission because he feels the Alliance has pushed them all aside. Bahb, Jahn, Marruc, and Rahuhl fret as he and Leia argue hotly. When he grabs her arm in anger, Fenn Shysa flips him. Newly arrived, he is here to ally Mandalore with the Rebels. As Leia separates them, Fenn's companion, Bey, helps Han up; while on Mandalore, Bey heard Ackbar's call for help and decided to come along. Considered a hero in the galaxy, he wanders from place to place, doing good deeds. Bey advises Han to tell Leia he loves her, but Han refuses, instead undertaking his mission: to defuse balls of coherent energy that appeared in this sector, affecting navigation. Bey, Fenn, and Leia monitor them from a Calamari Cruiser, when suddenly the energy flares and the Falcon vanish, its occupants propelled through space to a far world where two youths, Prince Gil and Princess Risa, are being chased by Brigands. The ship crashes and Han opens the hatch to fire on the Brigands, then brings the teens aboard as their pursuers flee. Awed by Han, Risa says her father, King Cleroff, rules the Land of the Sun, while his father rules the side "closest to the night;" their people were at war for generations before a truce was struck, and now they plan to marry. The droids and Hoojibs examine the energy flooding the engines to find a way to return home. Gil says the energy balls are a natural phenomenon here, so they may be stranded. Cleroff and several archers arrive to demand the youths' return, but Risa explains that Han save them, and Cleroff is grateful. His brother, Marius, a vizier and magician, calls for servants and animals to drag the Falcon to their kingdom. He has studied the energy balls to see why they've changed of late, making things vanish and appear. Han is welcomed in the Land of the Sun, but misses Leia and regrets his anger. Plif says he will have the energy drained by morning, but Han realizes Risa loves him so he plots to restore her love for Gil before leaving. Arranging for Brigands to kidnap Gil, he tells Cleroff to pay the ransom, earn Gil's family's gratitude, arrest the Brigands, and maintain peace. However, when they go to pay the ransom, Brigands capture them all instead. Marius is their leader, intent on usurping the throne, but Han surmised this and planned to expose him: as the Royal Guard arrives to arrest Marius and the Brigands, Han prepares to leave. Gil and Cleroff are disappointed to see him go, but Risa, again in love with Gil, is indifferent. After the Falcon finds its way back to Endor, Han finally tells Leia exactly how he feels about her.
