In the Ewoks' Bright Tree Village, Lando consoles Luke over Kiro's death as Rik and Chihdo do the same for Dani. Bahb, Jahn, Marruc, and Rahuhl watch jealously as Leia talks with Fenn Shysa, who joined forces with the Rebels when the Nagai attacked worlds near Mandalore. With the help of Bey, Han's half-Corellian childhood protector, Fenn formed a resistance group against the Nagai. Ackbar, Han, Bey, Chewie, R2, and 3PO make a mercy mission to Godo, where radiation is killing many. Taking decontamination baths on the Falcon , they meet Fumiyo, the only Godoan who speaks Standard. Godo once housed a great civilization but is now poisoning all life. As Ackbar returns to the orbiting fleet to check on doctors seeking a cure, Fumiyo gives Han and Bey a tour. Outside each home is a cache of flame gems, a tribute to the Goddess. He shows them the House of the Goddess, a center of Godoan worship, which Han realizes is a huge machine. Statues line the walls, but two are missing, and a huge statue identical to the Dancing Goddess stands in the middle. Recognizing it, Han returns to Endor's Sanctuary Moon to consult with Luke and Lando. They decide Godo must have grown unlivable, so its people built the machine to fix the problem; in time, it became a religion, and treasure hunters have sought the two missing statues without knowing their true value. As Lando and Chewie return to Stenos in the Cobra to retrieve the Goddess from Drebble, Han and Like visit a prison asteroid to buy the Minstrel from Lemo and Sanda. Though angry, they sell it for 20,000 credits and parole. On Stenos, Drebble has become a respected businessman running a section of the capital. Lando explains his dilemma and Drebble returns the statue, for refusing would mean he didn't deserve it. On Arcan IV, Han and Luke visit Lemo's hideout and trade for the Minstrel, then both ships return to Godo. As the statues are put in place, the planet is reborn. The fleet prepares to arm nearby invaded worlds, but Lando falls, not having decontaminated himself. Han asks permission to take him to the temple, but Godo closes its doors to aliens. Han threatens to level Godo; Ackbar forbids this, but Luke and others, including Wedge, Nien Nunb, Fenn, Bey, and two ex-Imperials, Maggie and Trif, back him up. Panicked, Fumiyo begs his government to admit Lando. As no harm is done, Ackbar ignores the incident, and when asked if he was bluffing, Han replies, "Luckily for everyone... we'll never know."
