Han inspects the Great Starship Yards of Fondor, waiting for Leia to join him. As Lando and Nein Nunb land the Falcon recklessly, Han ignores a Rebel trying to discuss business and frantically confronts Lando, who calms him and says Nien will be his co-pilot while Chewie is on Kashyyyk. Leia is meeting Mothma, Ackbar, and Madine, so Lando will relieve him while he begins a new mission. Visiting an ex-Imperial prison world, Han is to ferry two children, the Venerated Ones, to Vandelheim. The children are annoying, the ride long. At Vandelheim, Guildmaster Orrk meets Admiral Mordur aboard a converted drone barge, worried the kids' return will end his rule. Mordur wants to kill them, but this would reveal his hidden troops. Instead, he plans to frame the Rebels for their deaths by making the Falcon exit hyperspace in a mine field. The ship hits the trap as Han tells the kids stories, but he pilots them out. They are thrilled and ask Han to pilot them in the future. As the Falcon lands at Vandelheim, Han complains about the mines and the Guild's lack of production. Orrk says the Metalsmiths refused to work when the Empire took the Venerated Ones, for as descendants of the founders, they are symbols of prosperity. As payment for the mission, Han is to lead barges back to the Alliance. Orrk says it's a tradition for the kids to bless the caravan, but Han knows it's a ruse when he sees a trooper holding Nien. Orrk grabs the kids in order to kill them and keep the barges, for once the Metalsmiths hear of the deaths and refuse to work, ores will increase in value and he and Mordur can finance an Empire. As the kids break free, Han shoots the trooper and jumps Orrk. He almost falls off a ledge, and when Orrk tries to kill him, the girl fires Han's gun. Orrk turns on her, so Han yanks him over the ledge and climbs to safety. Hugging the kids, he hears troops approaching, then ducks as Nien shoots them. He tries to take out Mordur's ship, but Mordur orders the caravan to head for the sun so that if Han attacks, the barges will fall into it. Deciding to commandeer the command barge, Han dons a spacesuit and surprises waiting troops. Willing to die to win, Mordur tries to destroy the computer but Han crashes through a viewport and tackles him. As the atmosphere, equipment, and Mordur are sucked into space, Han accessed the computer to change course, but nothing happens. Luckily, Lando arrives in a Nebulon-B Frigate, uses codes given by the children to turn the barges away, and rescues them all.
