Summary

The Falcon and the Cobra arrive at Kashyyyk. Impatient to see his family, Chewie is angry when they land at a spaceport instead of in his backyard. Han calms him by saying they must follow local regulations, for though Kashyyyk is no longer Empire-run, rules do apply. En route to Chewie's home, Lando senses something amiss, and though Han assures him all is fine, he is intimidated by so many Wookiees. A thin, blue-skinned alien purposely stands in their way, fearless, rude, and armed with knives. He is a Nagai, but the Wookies call him Knife. With him is Vargi, Chewie's brother-in-law, who is also going to Chewie's home. No one is home, for Mallatobuck, Chewie's wife, did not know they were coming. Awaiting her return, Han and Lando decide they don't trust Knife or Vargi, and when Knife throws a dagger at a flame beetle near his head, Han nearly kills him before seeing the beetle. Suddenly, Lumpawarump, Chewie's son, enters, followed by three other Wookiees. Han thinks Knife and the others are slavers working for the Empire, but Knife laughs at the idea as Malla is brought in. Chewie is furious, but afraid of seeing his son or wife hurt, lets them shackle and parade him in the streets as a warning to others. Han and Lando are left in binders, but when the others leave, Lando picks the locks. Running to the spaceport, Han unlocks Chewie's manacles as Lando returns to his ship to get weapons and radio for help. Loading enslaved Wookiees on transport ships, Vargi and Wookiee sell-outs see Chewie escaping. Vargi hits him, but he won't fight back for fear of harming his family, and when Han runs to his rescue, other slaves turn on their captors. Seeing the commotion, Knife pulls a dagger on Chewie, but Lando, who has freed Malla, Lumpy, and Chewie's father, Attichitcuk, shoots it away. Seeing his family free, Chewie decks Vargi and embraces them. Unfortunately, Knife steals the Cobra and escapes as Han vows revenge on him. EnsViews Comic Review
