Rik and Dani jump from behind Chihdo's frozen form and open fire. As Luke destroys Bossk's gun and shoots most of the hunters, IG-88 signals reinforcements. Luke and Rik escape, but Lando and Dani are caught. Luke wants to rescue them, but Rik says they need a plan. Stenaxes allow the hunters to operate, he says, as long as no one bothers them. He and his gang now side with the Rebels because of what happened to Han and Chihdo, and because being a con-man is deadly under the Empire. Luke tries to contact the Falcon , but Chewie and R2 have sneaked through the city to find them. As the hunters take Dani and Lando to Drebble's base, Lando considers buying his freedom, but Drebble is the richest man on Stenos and can double any bribe. He plans to freeze them for transit to his world. Dani tries to seduce a guard, but when he calls her a "red-skinned freak," she kicks him and flees with Lando. R2 and Chewie sneak around the base as Rik and Luke creep in from a roof duct. Chewie grabs a flying Stenax and pulls him down; a battle ensues and Chewie wins. Seeking an exit, Lando and Dani find Bossk and IG-88 at a carbonite freezing chamber, who try to freeze Dani until Luke jumps the guards. Rik is caught and the group is cornered near the chamber. Suddenly, spears impale the hunters as Chewie and the Stenaxes storm the base; creatures of violence, they understand and respect him enough to follow. Knocking out Bossk and IG-88, Chewie throws the hunters into the pit. As Chewie gives a forgiving hug to Luke and Lando, Rik schemes how to make the Stenaxes work for him and force the hunters to un-freeze Chihdo. Later, as the Falcon leaves Stenos, Dani sneaks aboard to "vacation" with them for a while.
