Marvel Star Wars #57
HELLO, BESPIN, GOODBYE
Published: March 1982
Story: DAVID MICHELINIE
Art: WALTER SIMONSON and THOMAS PALMER
Summary

As Lando falls 1½ miles to Bespin, Lobot jumps after him, using a life-jet to slowly descend to Pleasant Meadow, a marsh of liquefied gas, where Ars "A.F." Fivvle, Pordy, Ki-Yi, and other Ugnaught reporters film Cloud City's fall from an Action Tidings newsboat. When a rail hits their balloon, Ki-Yi sees them falling. Pordy films the moment as Ars helps them aboard. Recognizing Lando, they lynch him, but troops on Imperial skimmers attack. Since the boat has no weapons, Lando uses the film as a projectile to dispatch one skimmer. As the other flees, Lobot fixes the boat's leak. The Ugnaughts decide since Lando treated them fairly, they'll let King Ozz, their ruler, kill him instead. Treece takes credit for stopping the bombs. Luke, Shira, and R2 arrive in X-Wings. The computer tell R2 of the bombs, but Treece sees Luke and plans to earn a seat on the Senate by capturing him for Vader. Ozz tells Lando and Lobot his people revolted when Treece exploited their eco-system. Vowing to stop Treece, he, Lobot, and the Ugnaughts return to Cloud City, where Ars' crew film Luke's fight with the troops. The troops try to shoot them, but Lando threatens to have Lobot arm the bombs unless they back off. When Treece shoots Lobot, Luke uses the Force to detonate the bombs. Cloud City falls and the troops retreat, but Luke tells Lando and Shira not to worry; he only blew the primers to fool Treece. Emergency drones fix the holes, the Ugnaughts take control, Lobot is fixed, and Lando hopes that the Empire will leave Bespin alone. Lobot transfers Treece's illegal funds to Vader's private account on Aargau, then the Falcon and the X-Wings depart. EnsViews Comic Review
