Finding Cloud City empty, Lando learns from the computer that hundreds of tibanna miners fled to Bespin, then runs when Lobot attacks. Sergeant Vollot's bomb squad lands to disarm Ugnaught bombs and report to Captain Treece, the new governor. On Arbra, Leia lands a camouflaged skyspeeder near a forest lake, enters the Hoojib cave, and tells a corporal to recharge it so she can check an anomaly on the Ninth Perimeter. Finding Luke with Shira Brie, a pilot, she asks him to join her on a mission, but he's leaving with Shira to check on Lando, sparking a rivalry between the women. Lando opens fire on the Imperials and lures them to a carbon-freezing chamber. The squad finds the first bomb, shocked when it offers to help disarm itself. Lando swings on a cable, knocking his pursuers into the pit and freezing them in carbonite. The squad follows the bomb's instructions but it tricks them into detonating it, causing Cloud City to leak tibanna and tilt. Evading Lobot, Lando finds the dead squad. Emergency drones seal the hull as he and Treece call a truce. Treece says Ugnaughts planted twelve bombs to force evacuation so they could return mining to the surface. Luring Lobot to a freight-loading facility, they grab him with a loading claw and pull his motivational programming capsule to deactivate him. The Ugnaughts shorted him out so he could not disarm the bombs. Once fixed, he focuses energy to mentally manipulate safety mechanisms and disarm them. Treece then ends the truce by pushing Lando over a rail to drop to Bespin.
