Wermis's Star Destroyer finds the Falcon at Monastery. Pulled in via tractor beam, Leia hides in a smuggling bin. Wermis sees through Han's cover story and orders a search for Leia. At dawn, Luke wanders with R2 in the Great Rain Forest behind the Temple of the Sacred Circle, worried Vader will win. In a glade, he spies a saber cat stalking Domina as she meditates. He jumps as it pounces and both fall into the Forest Pool. Luke can swim but is still not comfortable with it. When he kills the cat with his lightsaber, the Circle of Elders reject him, for the cat was a pet allowed to roam free. Domina feels sorry for Luke but the House of Tagge avenges its own. On Wermis's ship, the R5 Unit reports a change in Orman's condition, but Vader and Wermis are too busy to notice. The Falcon search reveals nothing, but Wermis arrests Han and Chewie and deactivates 3PO. After they leave, Leia emerges from the bin and awakens 3PO to call R2 on the laserwave. She tries to warn Luke of Vader's scheme, but he is with the Circle of Elders. Domina recalls how Ulric visited to tell her Luke killed Silas and Orman, and that to avenge them, they must make peace with Vader; how Vader began training her; how long ago, Orman, the only brother she loved, nearly killed Silas for suggesting she marry into an Imperial family; and how her innocence is now gone. Luke and R2 enter the Temple to present holographic evidence against the Empire, only to find Domina has been named All-High Priestess and has allied with Vader all along. Luke accuses Vader of using the Foorce to alter their minds, so Vader challenges him to a duel. Domina prohibits fighting within the Temple and plans a duel for sundown in the Crystal Valley. Though not by Vader's plans, he accepts. Wermis learns Orman has recovered as explosions Leia set in Supply Holds E and F go off. She shoots some guards, disables the tractor beam and artificial gravity, and rescues Han and Chewie. In the chaos, Orman's life support capsule breaks. As the Falcon escapes, Orman steps out of hiding and tells Han to take the ship to Monastery. Meanwhile, as she watches Vader and Luke head for the Crystal Valley, Domina plans to cause not only Luke's death, but Vader's as well.
