Fact: There are new variations discovered in the classic Kenner collection all the time. Most of the variations aren't all that significant, and even when something significant turns up it doesn't equal giant bags of money for anybody.
Case in pont is the Molded Legs Han Solo (Hoth Outfit). This variation, at least as far as I recall, wasn't widely known about until the above linked page was published back in 2003. At the time people weren't listing it as a variation and collectors looking for it would have to rely on their intuition and their ability to decipher details in grainy, out of focus and often times tiny images in order to find one. As it became more well known, people began identifying it as a variation and it was able to sell for more money than a regular version, but never for much more than $30-60.
If this figure was a newly discovered variation, it my well be worth a bit more money than a regular figure, but not in the triple digits. Heck, not even the higher double digits.
This figure, however, is the product of plastic degradation likely brought on by poor storage conditions. As such, it is worth much less than a regular figure.
