Thrawn in Tatooine Ghost Posted By Nicholas on April 30, 2003
There has been some debate among fans as to whether the mysterious red-eyed stormtrooper that Han glimpses through the smoke during a firefight in Tatooine Ghost is indeed Thrawn, the Chiss grand admiral. For a definitive answer, we turn to the Jedi Council Forums.
Here is the original question as posed by Alion_Sangre:
Nitpicky question: Is the red-eyed stormtrooper officer in Tatooine Ghost supposed to be Thrawn, and if it is, what would he be doing ordering a squad around in person?
Here is Troy Denning's (Tailone) response:
Thrawn? In TG? Where'd you get an idea like that? There are lots of red-eyed, black-haired stormtroopers in the galaxy!
I suppose that IF a certain Grand Admiral were in TG, it would be because it's pretty difficult to ignore the impending arrival of such an important character. As for what he might be doing ordering a squad around in person--three words: training, training, training.
Troy expanded upon his answer in a later post:
Actually, I may have been too cute in my answer and misled you. The red-eyed stormtrooper in TG is, indeed, supposed to be Thrawn. He's leading a squad personally because the story occurs shortly after he takes command of the Chimaera, and he's still trying to assess the morale and capabilities of his subordinates.
Sorry! Must be my Barabel sense of humor kicking in again.
